FREQUENTLY ASKED CAR SHOW QUESTIONS:
How do I register my car for the show?
You can pre-register online at PLANES & HORSEPOWER 24. We do take registrations on the day of the event for non-photo op entries.
Is registration required?
--Pre-registration is required for photo-op packages. Pre-registration allows us to allocate both our limited airport space and our limited time for photo ops. We will close registration on the night before the show, or sooner if we fill up. Pre-registration is still preferred even if you are not signing up for photos.
Can I put multiple vehicles in the show?
--Absolutely! That is actually done quite frequently. Each car will have to be registered separately and with its own entrance fee.
Can I bring any type of car?
--ANY kind of car is welcome. Any motorcycle, any type of car, Army jeep, etc. Every year we get a wide range of cars from classic Studebakers to modern Camaros and Mustangs. We've had a lot of very unique entries as well, from Peterbilt 379's to even boats! We welcome anything with a motor.
If I register, does that mean I’m guaranteed a spot in the show?
--Yes, registration guarantees you a spot in the show if the show fills up, even if you haven't paid until the day of the show.
Do I need to pay right now or can I pay on the day of the show?
--Although we strongly prefer paying with your online registration, we realize budgets are tight and will allow payment on the day of the show.
I don’t want to have my picture taken with the planes, can I put my car in anyways?
--We have a $20 Airman package for those wanting to be in the show but not wanting pictures. Pre-registration is still preferred.
What is there to do during the show?
--Visit our museum, take a tour of the aircraft during the photo op breaks, speak with museum staff about the history, observe the restoration of our PT-17 Stearman, tour the vendors, and much more! Throughout the day there will be a lot of airport traffic to watch, and many times we get visits from the Army National Guard and various firefighter aircraft.
Can we get up close the the aircraft?
--The aircraft will be closed off for most of the event for people who purchased photo op packages, but there will also be one or two planes that will be on display for general admission to see. All of the aircraft will open up around noon for everyone to look at and take pictures with.
Can we race on the runway?
--Unfortunately no, as fun as that sounds.
Will there be food?
--Yes, there will be two food trucks on site.
I want to book a ride in one of your planes, can I do that on the day of the show?
--Unfortunately we need our planes during the show for the photo ops, and all of our aircraft are currently not on a rides program. We hope by the time of the show to have our Stearman N1387V restoration completed, at which time we will have rides we can schedule.
Where do the proceeds go?
--Your entry fee is a charitable donation to the Utah Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. Proceeds from the show go towards maintaining our museum, keeping our aircraft in airworthy condition, and primarily towards the restoration work on our Stearman N1387V.
Will the show be cancelled for weather?
--Most car shows proceed rain or shine, but unfortunately we cannot have our aircraft out in inclement weather. In the past we have taken very brief breaks for minor showers.
Can I get a refund if I have to cancel?
--No refunds unfortunately. We apologize for the inconvenience.
How are the photos delivered to me?
--The photos will be delivered to you via Dropbox, or an alternate method of your preference.
When can I expect my photos?
--They should make their way to you no later than two weeks after the event. This is due to the large volume of photo op packages. We appreciate your patience as our photographers ensure quality packages.
How do I know when my photo op time is?
--Your assigned photo op time will be emailed to you closer to the event, and will be rearranged accordingly if there are any difficulties.
Can I bring in my trailer and leave it somewhere during the show?
-- We understand the need to protect and preserve these vehicles. This is perfectly acceptable and is quite common. We have a designated area to park trailers during the event.
Can I set up a canopy behind my car?
--Canopies are allowed, provided they are weighed down with solid weights (recommend 40 lbs around each corner). We will not provide any weights. Smaller coverings and umbrellas must also be weighted down, as our airport is subject to frequent high winds.
How do I become a sponsor/vendor for the event?
--To become a vendor, please download the application form at https://www.cafutahwing.org/vendor-application-form.html. Please review the terms and conditions before proceeding.
